The masterclass organised by the city of Bordeaux in partnership with UNESCO continued with two additional editions in 2025, with more than 100 pupils per session.

The latest edition, with the theme ‘The making of discrimination: how the media create and dismantle discrimination’, highlighted the important role of the media in transmitting discriminatory discourse, and the emergence of new media offering a counter-discourse with greater representation of diversity.

A round table discussion with three journalists illustrated the position of certain media outlets on sexist, homophobic and racist discourse, but also showed that alternatives exist. Workshops led by local organisations then allowed students to explore the issue of discrimination in greater depth.

The masterclasses are continuing thanks to a political commitment to increase the financial resources allocated to the fight against LGBTphobia, with larger dedicated budgets (Pride Month call for projects, grants to associations, etc.) and a 143% increase since 2021.
