The City of Helsinki has been a main partner of the Helsinki Pride Week since 2020. One of the goals of the partnership is to enhance and make more visible the city’s commitment and work on gender equality and non-discrimination all year round. The city conducted an internal survey in summer 2025 to find out more about the city employees’ views of the Pride partnership and how well LGBTIQ themes are present in their work and work community. Out of the 262 respondents (not generalizable to the whole staff), 80 % considered the Pride partnership at least “fairly important” and 10 % “not at all important”. Over 80 % replied that their unit/service uses rainbow symbols such as flags, key chains or the rainbow-coloured Helsinki logo. However, only about a quarter of the respondents replied that LGBTIQ themes are regularly on the agenda of their unit/service throughout the year.
