At the initiative of the City of Geneva, representatives in charge of LGBTIQ+ issues within public institutions across French-speaking region of Switzerland have met since 2023 to share experiences and strengthen cooperation. To ensure continuity, greater visibility, and enhanced impact, the working group formally became an association earlier this year under the name “Conférence Romande OSAIEGCS-LGBTIQ.”
Its purpose is to promote knowledge-sharing, coordinate public policies, offer expertise to political authorities and institutions, and develop joint projects. With this new structure, French-speaking Switzerland, a pioneer in LGBTIQ+ equality both institutionally and within civil society, gains a stronger framework for collaboration at the regional and the national level, and a new platform to make its voice heard across the country and beyond.
