On May 17, 2025, Taipei City held a rainbow flag-raising ceremony at City Hall to mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) and to celebrate the opening of the World Masters Games. The event welcomed athletes and guests from Taiwan and around the world, highlighting LGBTIQ+ inclusion in sports. To enhance public engagement, six photo props were designed, blending rainbow imagery with iconic Taiwanese street foods to spark identification and interest.
The World Masters Games also implemented a robust gender equality framework: the event mascot “Zhuang Bao” features colors from the transgender flag, while the organizing committee promoted gender inclusion through staff and volunteer gender sensitivity training, anti-harassment mechanisms, inclusive facilities, increasing the number of female referees, and providing participation guidelines for transgender athletes—demonstrating the event’s strong commitment to diversity and gender inclusion.
