The Department of Labor & Social Affairs, in close collaboration with the LGBTI Commission of the City, organised a two-part training for all management staff to promote understanding of queer issues and equality within the administration. The sessions were designed and delivered by the Commission’s staff in coordination with the department. Topics included LGBTI identities, coming-out processes, trans, non-binary, and intersex issues, as well as legal and medical frameworks. Participants explored discrimination, microaggressions, minority stress, and practical strategies for inclusive interactions. Small-group exercises encouraged reflection and scenario-based problem solving. Follow-up materials, updated guides, and regular team exchanges ensure lasting impact and provide a model for other cities.
