This year, the City of Linz, in collaboration with the artist couple Iris and Erik Diewald-Hagen, launched the photo art project “SEIN” (BEEING). Using historical photographic techniques, the project portrays twelve queer individuals. At its heart lies a simple yet profound question: “Can everyone truly BE as they wish?”
The exhibition unfolds in three compelling chapters:
– striking head portraits paired with personal reflections on identity
– intimate body images exploring physicality and sexual identity
– and full portraits that capture each participant in the essence of their being.
Each work is a one-of-a-kind monochrome photography on glass, individually color-tinted so that, together, they form a radiant rainbow.
We warmly invite RCN partner cities to bring the message of “SEIN” to their own communities – to spark dialogue, inspire empathy, and celebrate diversity.
