In 2022, the city council decided to create a counseling service for refugees with an LGBTIQ background. The aim of the service is to help those affected stabilize their lives, become independent, and contribute to their successful integration, thereby supporting them in leading a self-determined life.
The work of the counseling center includes: counseling on residence (asylum procedures, right of residence) and integration (language courses, housing and living expenses, health). The counseling center has experienced continuous growth since its inception. The majority of those receiving counseling currently come from Pakistan, Egypt, and Russia.
