As part of our commitment to visibility and inclusion, the 2024 LGBTI+ Awareness Week extended beyond events and conversations into the heart of the city. Bus stop signage across Cork featured vibrant, inclusive messages celebrating diversity and equality, ensuring that everyone moving through public spaces saw a clear message: “A safe city for all.”
Cork’s LGBTI+ Awareness Week is an annual programme of events, promoting visibility, inclusion and equality across Cork city. These posters had a significant impact by promoting awareness, celebrating diversity, and encouraging engagement. Several posters also included Irish-language signage, reinforcing inclusivity. This initiative was more than just signage—it was a statement of solidarity and a reminder that equality belongs in every corner of our community.
By placing these in everyday spaces, Cork City Council and its partners reaffirm their commitment to fostering a city where diversity is visible, valued and celebrated.
