Cork City Council continues to demonstrate its commitment to equality and inclusion through the creation of a newly appointed and dedicated role of the LGBTI+ Social Inclusion Development Officer. It also signals our commitment to joined up, collaborative approaches to equality, inclusion, and well-being with our partner organisations. This post is jointly funded by Cork City Council, (who host and employ the worker) and the Health Service Executive (HSE) Social Inclusion Department. This position plays a vital part in supporting Cork’s LGBTI+ communities by working across Council departments, the Cork City LGBTI+ Interagency Group, and local organisations. The creation and continued development of this role build on that legacy, ensuring that progress is sustained and that Cork remains a leader in equality, human rights, and social inclusion. The officer will remain central to creating a city where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered.
