The ongoing debate on gender-inclusive language in German-speaking countries has made it necessary for the city administration to address this issue. The LGBT+ Coordination Office was commissioned to draft a proposal for new administrative language. In order to reflect as many relevant perspectives and interests as possible and to ensure broad acceptance of the new guidelines within the city administration, a working group was established. Representatives such as the Women’s Affairs Officer, the Disability Representative, the LGBT+ Coordination Office, and other stakeholders contributed the positions of their respective target groups and, together with the Personnel Department, developed a proposal for new guidelines for a gender-neutral and respectful official correspondence within the city administration.
