The LGBT+ Coordination Office was able to win a Germany-wide initiative to hold a training workshop for colleagues working with refugees (accommodation management, social work, immigration affairs). Access to the employees was gained through the management of the social services department responsible for refugees. Several teams were trained during three full-day events. The objectives of the training were to provide information, raise awareness, and facilitate exchange among colleagues and departments of the city administration. The presence of the LGBT+ Coordination Office at each seminar day made it easy for colleagues to address direct questions or concerns on the day of the event and afterwards.
