The purpose of establishing a dedicated Contact Committee for Gender and Sexual Diversity is to ensure that an intersectional perspective is promoted and integrated into the municipality’s plans, measures, and services.

The current Commissioner for Diversity invites LGBTQ+ organizations in Bergen to regular meetings. Theme for the meetings may cover political issues of interest to LGBTQ+ individuals in general and serve as a platform where LGBTQ+ organizations can raise matters important to them and their members.

The Contact Committee is intended as a forum for dialogue, with no decisions or resolutions made during the meetings. Both organizational representatives and the commissioner can propose agenda items.

Other relevant commissioners and stakeholders may be included when the agenda deems it appropriate.
